We assume that if you are going to take a tour with Paraguay Birding & Nature by DTP Tour Operator S.A., you have read and understood everything we mention below:

What the price includes

On custom tours and in general, on all our tours, we will agree and clarify the services included and not included through electronic mails and these will serve as an agreement between the parties.Normally at the bottom of each reference tour and our scheduled tour, we detail the services included and not included, only as a reference. Usually the price for tours includes all travel as noted in the itinerary, lodging in hotels/lodges or their equivalent, unless otherwise indicated in double or triple rooms, all meals unless otherwise noted, a drink (non-alcoholic) with meals, tour materials and the services of the leader (s).

The Single Occupancy Supplement listed for each tour provides a single room through out the tour unless otherwise noted. Certains mall lodges will not provide single rooms if they are heavily booked; in some cases hotels or lodges may not have single rooms at all and these are listed inthe “Notes” section of their respective tour itinerary. Unless a single room is specifically requested on your reservation form, all registrants will be assigned a suitable room mate. If no room mate is available, a single room will be provided and you will be charged the Single Occupancy Supplement.

In recent years, we have received many requests for individual rooms. Unfortunately, some hotels are not willing to guarantee more than a few single rooms until quite close to the departure date of the tour, when they can be sure they have rooms to spare. Several of the hotels and lodges that we could use during the tour do not have enough rooms to accommodate all or part of the group in single rooms; a requirement that has occurred on several recent tours. Participants should bear in mind that, although we will do everything possible to ensure sufficient individual roomsfor those who request it, this is not always possible, and you may be asked to share. Of course, you will be notified as far in advance as possible, and incase we have problems with the single rooms already during the tour, are imbursement of the supplement for single room that you have already paid in proportion to the number of shared nights will be made.

For group trips of scheduled dates, keep in mind thatif you travel alone and want to share a room, we will try to link you with another participant that also wants to share. However, if there is no other person on the tour who wants to share, we will have to charge the Single Occupancy Supplement on the sites that give us this facility.

The following items are not included in the tourprice: passports, visas, entrance taxes  and departure taxes, immunizations, excess baggage charges, optional excursions, telephone calls, flight transportation in general, laundry, room service, snacks, or anything of a purely personal nature, or anything else that is not expressly indicated asincluded.

As noted above, tips (drivers, hotel staff, porters and restaurants) are not included on this tour. It also does not include thetip to your leader/s or guide. If, therefore, you feel that you have been givenan excellent service, it is totally appropriate to give them a tip.

Flights in general are not included, flight reservations and costs are the responsibility of the clients. Before making flight reservations, confirm with Paraguay Birding and Nature by DTP S.A. the effective realization of the tour. In case of change of dates or cancellation due to force majeure of the tour, there will be no cost reimbursements associated with air tickets from Paraguay Birding and Nature by DTP S.A.

We will provide any information that you or your doctor may need to judge your capacityto participate fully in the tour and we may request a physician’s letter indicating that you are healthy enough to participate on the tour. We do not normally program strenuous physical exercise, but if it cannot be avoided, the fact is made explicit in the tour description and in the General Information sheets for each tour. Participants should be able to complete gentle walks of up to half a day, ride in any seat in tour vehicles, and meet the simple schedule of the tour. We reserve the right to send home persons unable or unwilling to conduct themselves in a manner compatible with the satisfactory operation of the tour.

- Quotations in general are subject to unforeseen increases in costs related to travel and as a result may have to be adjusted.

- Lastly, we may be forced to change or alter the itinerary at short or no notice due to unforeseen circumstances (weather: rainfall, closure of routes and others); please be aware that we will try to adhere as close to the original program as possible. In case we have to make these changes for the safety of the group and the staff, there will be no refund or additional issues to claim to Paraguay Birding & Nature by DTP S.A.

- These tours involve very little arduous walking. We will however spend large amounts of time seated while traversing the vast plains of Paraguay. If you have any physical limitations or medical conditionsof any kind, please let us know in advance of the tour.

- We will be birding in wildlife in some remote areas well away from modern medical facilities. Paraguay Birding & Nature by DTP S.A. encourages purchasing travel insurance.

- The hotels fluctuate from very good standards to more basic ones in remote locations.

- Transport is by small coach or minibus and 4x4 vehicles where required. Road conditions fluctuate from good to poor. Someareas are prone to flooding which may interfere with our trip, although we have minimized this risk by undertaking the tours during the driest part of the season.

The rainy season used to be from the end of November to May, but due to climate change, the forecasts are unpredictable and variable, as in the whole world. We recommend being equipped for rain (layers and rainboots, in addition to hermetic bags for your electronic equipment). A light jacket is always recommended.

- Please let us know if you have any illness or physical limitation (which we should take into account), allergy, food limitation or require special diets so that we are prepared to serve you in the best way.

Flights

Asunción is the main port of entry for international flights in Paraguay. We have the capacity to advise you on the best route according to your preferences, but your local travel agent will best be able to book these flights for you. IMPORTANT for scheduled group departures: please DO NOT book your international flights until you have consulted the Tour Operator Office for confirmation on the status of the tour.

‍Other considerations:

On our custom and scheduled tours, most costs are included but a credit card for emergencies and some US dollars, which can be changed at airports or larger hotels, are useful for alcoholic drinks, snacks, tips and others. Check the services included in the tour you have hired.

Most lodges and hotels provide towels, but a small lodge might not have them, so a fast-drying towel is handy.

If you need special food, we recommend that you let us know as early as possible (vegetarians, celiacs, vegans, diabetics, etc.), in Paraguay the beef and chicken is very good and is always included on the menu, other meals or especial vegetarian food can be included, but in some places it is necessary to notify in advance.

We would appreciate you letting us know in advance in case of being allergic or having a health or mobility issue that we should take in to account. Depending on the tour you choose, you could have long walks on uneven terrains. We will gladly give you all the detailed information on the terrain according to the tour you take. If it is a tailor made tour, we adapt it completely to your abilities. We recommend you bring all your medication from your country as you may not get some special medications in Paraguay. If you have any questions at all, please contact us.
