I have loved visiting and exploring Paraguay and especially the Chaco region with Oscar.  His sheer joy in the land and in the animals is contagious.  But, beyond the joy is a seriously expansive knowledge of every bird that flies there (and nearly everywhere else), the animals, the history and the geography, shared easily with those of us who are amateurs in all of it.  I travel a lot and Oscar’s guiding and thoughtfulness ranks at the top of my trips.
